Molly spends time in Mexico City as an American exchange student and seeks lodgings with a local family in order to soak up the culture. The young lad of the house, 14-year-old Diego, is instantly smitten and pursues the older woman with vigour but all of his silky charm comes to nought, especially with all eyes focused on his grandfather's ongoing battle with cancer. Molly returns to New York where Diego eventually follows her and makes the object of his affection realise that there might be scope for a romantic relationship after all.

Lady Sarah Ashley leaves behind the finery of the English aristocracy to travel to the Australian outback and confront her husband Lord Ashley on the Faraway Downs cattle station, where he spends most of his time. She finds a huge property in financial disarray, on the brink of takeover by scheming King Carney, who controls most of the local cattle market. With the help of a swarthy drover, Sarah decides to challenge Carney's monopoly by herding 500-strong of prize cattle all the way to port in the face of stiff resistance from her rival's right-hand man and heir apparent, Neil Fletcher.
